MAL-PEG-EPO, full name maleimide-polyethylene glycol-epoxide, is a chemically modified product that combines the characteristics of maleimide (MAL), polyethylene glycol (PEG), and epoxide (EPO). This compound has broad application prospects in the fields of biology and chemical research.

First of all, the maleimide group endows MAL-PEG-EPO with high reactivity. It can react with biomolecules containing sulfhydryl (-SH) under mild conditions to form a stable thioether bond.
